ROMAN BRONZE STANDING NUDE ZEUS

His right leg advancing, and his right arm outstretched on which sits an eagle. His raised left hand once clenched a spear or thunderbolt; on ancient bronze spindle base.
Superb olive green patina.
Possibly based on an original by Ageladas II (ca. 420 BC), a classical version of the Artemision Zeus

Ex European collection since the 1970s.
