ROMAN BRONZE HERMANUBIS Inscribed in Greek on the base: ‘Menistrokondos son of Lalachos dedicates this.’ He wears a modius, his himation draped over his left shoulder and around his waist. In his right hand he holds the caduceus and in his left, a frond. Acquired in London, May 2002. Prof. Laurent Bricault translates the inscription as “Menis son of Trokondos, grandson of Lalakos, for his valor this is consecrated.” To be included in Prof Bricault’s forthcoming academic essay on the Isiac cults.
