ATTIC BLACK-FIGURE PANEL AMPHORA BY THE CONTEMPORARY OF LYDOS

Probably a departure scene, depicting a warrior wearing a Corinthian helmet and holding a round shield faces left, flanked by two bearded men. They are flanked by two other men, one bearded. The four wear long striped garments. The reverse is similiar except that the inner pair are semi-nude youths.

Ex collection of Albert Pilot (1922-2002) France, acquired circa 1940.
