IMPORTANT HELLENISTIC IRON HELMET OF BOEOTIAN TYPE, WITH A CHAIN MAIL SHIRT FOUND INSIDE

The crown tapering to a pointed apex with spike, with broad rim, the front molded with a contoured triangle scrolling to stylized volutes at either side suspending the cheekpieces.
Left cheekpiece and edge of brim restored.
Found in Yugoslavia.

Found when discovered, balled inside the helmet, was a Hellenistic iron chain mail shirt. This accompanies the helmet.
