ROMAN MARBLE RECTANGULAR OSCILLUM: NUDE DIONYSOS AND AMPELOS

The bearded god of wine having over-imbibed, holds a rhyton (wine cup) in his right hand, a chlamys over his shoulder. His nude companion, the young satyr Ampelos, supports him while stroking a panther. Rev: Two Erotes on a dolphin.

Ex Nicholas Koutoulakis in the 1970's, thence by descent.
