Roman bronze applique Bust of a young satyr, ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE BUST OF A YOUNG SATYR

Probably from a fulcrum, with his head turned sharply to his left and up, and wearing a goat skin knotted on the right shoulder, his face with parted lips, goat’s ears. and swept-up hair surmounted by a knobbed pointed petasos engraved on top with radiating criss-crossing lines and wavy dotted border.

Ex private collection, acquired in the UK, November 25th, 1977; Bonham's, London, April 27th, 2006, nos. 135.
