ROMAN-BRITISH BRONZE CROUCHING WINGED GRIFFIN

Hollow-cast, front legs raised and joined; details incised. Found in East Sussex, together with other Romano-British metalwork. Apparently the only sculpture of a griffin to have been found in Britain.
