Etruscan terracotta votive head of a woman ETRUSCAN TERRACOTTA VOTIVE HEAD OF A WOMAN

Oval face, framed by a coiffure of helical locks over the forehead and long, pendant corkscrew locks to both sides. Grape-shaped ear rings. Large eyes with curved, sharp-ridged upper lids under fine, flat brow. The mouth, with curved lips, is slightly opened.
For a complete votive bust, probably from the same model, cf. Cat. Berlin - 1988, p. 291, no. D 3.12 with illus. The head is in relief over a smooth back.

Ex collection of L. Winterschladen, Allschwil, Switzerland, acquired 1964.
